Here are a few more tips for visiting Cabo to help you with your trip planning!
Best Things To Do In Cabo
Looking for fun things to do in Cabo outside of your hotel? Here are the top attractions and things to do in Cabo San Lucas:
Sailing Cruise To El Arco

El Arco is a unique rock formation situated at the tip of the Baja California peninsula and a must-see for those visiting Cabo. The easiest way to reach El Arco is by boat which is such a fun day activity for the entire family!
You can also hike to hidden beaches by El Arco from the town but the hike to get there is long and very hard. Going on a sailing & snorkeling cruise is a much more enjoyable way to experience this beautiful landmark.
Go On a Ziplining Adventure

Looking for something a bit more thrilling? Consider this outdoor ziplining and UTV adventure from Los Cabos.
During this canopy adventure, you’ll get to soar over desert canyons and rappel down cliff walls while enjoying the scenic beauty of the surrounding landscapes. This is the perfect activity to satisfy the adrenaline junkie in you!
Camel Outback Adventure

The camel outback & eco farm adventure is one of the most popular (and unique) things that you can do in Cabo! On this exciting excursion, you’ll get to tour an oceanfront ranch and ride a camel on the beach followed by a tequila tasting experience.
Riding a camel on the beach with the ocean next to you is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience that you’ll remember long after your trip!
Which Airport Should I Fly In For Cabo?
The main airport to fly in for visiting Cabo is Los Cabos International Airport (SJD). This airport supports incoming travelers for both Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo areas.
Pssst! We use Google Flights and Kayak to book our flights. Kayak allows you to easily search for the best flight deals from hundreds of airline sites.
Many hotels offer shuttle services to and from the airport that can be arranged (typically for an extra fee). If the hotel of your choice does not offer a shuttle service, you can also book a Los Cabos Airport Roundtrip Transfer for just $30.
If you’re traveling in a group or want more privacy, as an alternative you can book a private, round-trip vehicle transfer from SJD airport to Cabo San Lucas for $180. With a private transfer, you won’t have to share the car with strangers and the ride includes complimentary beer so you can start enjoying your vacation as soon as you land!

What Is The Best Time Of Year To Go To Cabo?
In general, Cabo is a great destination to visit year-round, especially if you love tropical warm weather.
We’ve been to Cabo in different seasons and our favorite time is winter (November to February) when temperatures are a bit cooler, there is less rain and it’s less crowded.
If you’re interested in doing a bit of whale watching, the winter and spring months (December to March) are the best times for whale watching in Cabo when the Humpback Whales migrate to the warmer Baja California waters. Often you can spot the whales from the shore, but for a closer look, we recommend signing up for this Humpback Whale watching tour in Cabo San Lucas.

Summer is the most popular time for traveling in Baja California but the summer months can get very hot and humid.
August and September are the rainiest months in Cabo. If you come during these months, you might be stuck spending a lot of time inside your hotel during the rain storms.
Is Cabo Safe?
As someone who spent 6 months traveling in Mexico and has been to Cabo on multiple occasions, from our personal experience Cabo is a safe place to visit.
Despite the stories that we hear and read on the news, Mexico is a lot safer for travelers than you think, but common sense and caution should always be used.
Here are a few safety tips to keep in mind for visiting Cabo that have helped us stay out of trouble:
- Always go out to explore the town with other people
- Don’t walk alone on empty streets
- Avoid taking small alleys or narrow roads
- Avoid going out or driving at night past sunset
- Don’t get wasted
- Keep a family member or a friend updated with your travel itinerary. You can also stay connected by sharing your location on your phone in case something happens.
